United Airlines flies Boeing 787 aircraft with an all Female Crew to an airshow.
In a bold move to showcase and highlight the important role women play in Aviation, United Airlines has flown a Boeing 787 to an airshow in the USA with an all-female crew.
The aircraft was flown by a female Captain and First Officer and had all-female cabin crew on board. Even the passengers were nearly all-female, with nearly 100 female passengers representing women in various fields in the United workforce.
As earlier stated, the bulk of the passengers ferried were from different department of the airline. These included, Airport operations, Sales and Marketing, Inflight services, Technical operations, Network Operations, etc.
Furthermore, United highlighted this move on its media portal and was quick to buttress how much of an impact having female staff throughout the company has been.
In a statement by Executive vice President Linda Jojo, “Women are in critical leadership roles across United and what better way to demonstrate our commitment to women in aviation than arriving with more than 100-strong at the largest airshow in the world”
In furtherance of it's commitments in addressing the imbalance in gender ratio in relation to the workforce, United airline also announced additional scholarships for aspiring females in aviation, expanding its program of supporting female talent.
